On Tuesday, September 21st at 14:00 CEST we will hold the SPRINT Robotics Awards Ceremony, a virtual event that will combine both the announcement of the CFM Challenge winner as well as the winners of the three different categories of the SPRINT Robotics Awards 2020. The CFM Challenge called on companies to present new robotic solutions for the Cleaning & Fabric Maintenance of capital-intensive infrastructure, focusing on existing and new robotic tools near commercialization that can eliminate Confined Space Entries (CSE), Scaffolding, or Rope Access (RA) while performing cleaning or fabric maintenance activities. The CFM Challenge was initiated by several subject matter experts from major oil & gas and petrochemical companies that form the SPRINT Robotics Task Force Cleaning & Fabric Maintenance. The two finalists of the CFM Challenge are Confined Space Robotics and Qlayers. The winning solution provider will receive a reward of €50.000, and the opportunity to further develop their solution and its application through direct meetings with the Task Force. The solution is intended to be deployed on a client site (or virtually in a simulated environment), where the providers can see their solutions in action and gain valuable information from the full-scale real-world deployment. The SPRINT Robotics Awards acknowledge and reward exceptional work in inspection and maintenance robotics in our society. There are three categories: Groundbreaking Collaborative Work towards Acceptance of Inspection and Maintenance Robotics, Scaling of a Robotic Solution, and New Innovative Technology in Inspection, Maintenance or Cleaning. Any company, other than an asset owner or operator, that contributed to the vision of SPRINT Robotics, may apply for the awards. The winners are selected by means of a majority vote by the SPRINT Robotics Program Committee. During the Award Ceremony, we will announce the top three places in each category. The first place winners of each category receive: the SPRINT Robotics Award 2020 Trophy for the category, publicity in a recognized robotics and/or NDT/inspection magazine as well as a press release, and hotel accommodation and flights for the recipient of the award to the next World Conference for Inspection and Maintenance Robotics (1 person, economy class; 2 nights). Who will be the winners? Join us for our virtual ceremony on September 21st from 14:00-15:30 CEST! The SPRINT Robotics Awards Ceremony is an open event, both for SPRINT Robotics member companies and non-SPRINT Robotics companies. We will be posting the link to attend soon.
